little things make a big difference

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

May peace be upon you all…

I currently finished reading an interesting book

Little things make a big difference by Laurin Sydney

This book does really ring a bell to me.
On how, I sometimes forget and often, underestimate the power of little, simple things in life.

One page of the book that I found I really like it a lot is about:

Complimentary Compliments (from page 18)

“…The power of a genuine compliment is immense. I know that your mom taught you to find the good in everything…. so when you do find it, speak up! It’s free, and the impact can be miraculous.”

I remember, few days ago, a stranger gave me compliment inside the elevator.

She says: “you look so beautiful with your hijab, I think hijab suits you a lot”

And I was so surprised listening to her, knowing that she starred at me since the first second I walked into the elevator.

So thanked her before she got off at the basement.

Those seconds of moment really did change my energy.

Laurin said “miraculous”…maybe that describes the word.

According to some Indonesian friends I have, here in Indonesia, we weren’t really educated to compliment people, unlike the western culture.

But hey, since you have read my writing, wouldn’t you practice a new, inspiring habit which impact can be miraculous to others?

I would… ☺

Wassalamu’alaikum,
LpW
